Golgotha: The Place of Grace

“ … since the fall of Adam, death had marched mercilessly after man, but now a Man has come marching after death.”

by Matthew Crouch

Not long ago Laurie and I joined some of our dear friends and TBN partners just outside Jerusalem at the Garden Tomb, the place where many believe Jesus’ body was laid after He suffered and died for us.

Of course, because the tomb is empty it represents great victory. After three days in the grave Jesus burst the bonds of sin, sickness, suffering — and death — so that we could become children of God through His shed blood. As we celebrate Easter this Sunday, it is all about what that empty tomb represents: Jesus is risen, and because of that we can embrace salvation and newness of life!

However, as we stood before the empty Garden Tomb that day and rejoiced in Jesus’ glorious resurrection, it hit me as never before that before the resurrection — before the victory of the empty tomb — came the agony of the cross. In order for Jesus to rise from the dead and complete the purchase of our salvation, He first had to take that lonely journey up the hill of Golgotha, and suffer and die for us alone on the cross. Golgotha is the place where grace began!

This Easter season we want to share with you an all-new TBN program, entitled simply Golgotha, that offers a deeply moving depiction of all that Jesus suffered for you and me when He died on the cross. Featuring some life-changing words from our good friend Pastor Joseph Prince, this special 28-minute TBN presentation powerfully captures the message of God’s grace in a way that I believe will bring many to faith in Christ — perhaps even someone you know and love.

You can catch the entire TBN presentation of Golgotha by clicking on the screen above. I want to encourage you to take some time to watch  it with those close to you — and share with them the incomparable message of God’s hope and grace.
