Honoring Our Fathers

by Matthew Crouch

“ . . . the glory of children are their fathers.” — Proverbs 17:6

I find myself in unfamiliar territory on this Father’s Day. Given my mom’s recent home-going, it’s my first time to mark this special day with both my father and mother in heaven.

When I think of Father’s Day I am reminded of the biblical principle of honoring our fathers and mothers (the only command with a promise!), and of Jesus’ statement that He honored His Father by doing His will (John 4:34).

What could be more honoring to Christian parents than to see their children doing the will of the Heavenly Father?

Of course, the powerful impact of godly fathers cannot be overstated. They are a force — imparting God’s goodness to future generations. In fact, a good father is one of the primary ways God expresses His nature to us.

Please join Laurie and me — and the entire TBN family — in celebrating fathers and all men of character who are pouring out their strength, wisdom, and encouragement to create a better world for everyone.

We appreciate you and your connection to TBN, which enables us to send out programs that empower men around the world with the Truth of God’s Word. As men grow in God’s hope and grace, they are equipped to pass those truths on to the next generation.

To help you celebrate Father’s Day, we’d like to bless you with this inspirational message from Pastor T.D. Jakes on fatherhood, that will encourage you — and remind you why we celebrate these mighty men of God.

And don’t forget that we’re your partner in prayer on Father’s Day — and every other day of the year! Call us anytime at 1-888-731-1000.
