Living Generously

by Matthew Crouch

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.” — Luke 6:38

One of the most important things my mom and dad taught me was the importance of being a giver. Generosity was woven into the very fiber of our family as I was growing up. The scripture above was at the very heart of who my parents were, and they were incredibly blessed because of the extravagance with which they blessed others.

You can see the fruit of that blessing today in the global impact of TBN, the television network they launched in 1973 with one small low-power station. Over the past nearly forty-three years that tiny station has grown into over thirty global networks reaching every inhabited continent with the life-changing message of hope and grace — a potential viewing audience of 2.7 billion people! My parents are a text-book example of the “pressed down, shaken together, and running over” blessing that God promises to those who embrace a lifestyle of generosity.

One of my dad’s deepest desires was to see others walk in that same overflowing blessing he and my mom enjoyed. It was a recurring theme in his communications to TBN’s friends and partners. In fact, toward the end of his life my dad received a fresh and vital revelation about giving that excited him and that he wanted to share with others. You see, over the years he had become increasingly grieved over the “give to get” teaching that was coming from some Christian ministries. That’s just not how he saw it. “We don’t give to get,” I heard him say many times. “We get to give! We’re blessed so that we can be a blessing to others!”

That’s why he was so excited when he discovered the teaching on the “Blessed Life” by Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church in Dallas. The deep spiritual insights this man of God is sharing about living a life of purpose and blessing has already impacted millions of individuals — and it is a practical message that everyone needs to hear. It will change your life!

One of the final mandates my father gave to me before his home-going was to make sure Pastor Robert’s powerful teaching was accessible to as many people as possible through our TBN family of networks. “Matt, we have to show people how they can live a blessed life,” he told me. And I agree. This message has deeply impacted Laurie and me, and we’re excited to share the “Blessed Life” with our friends as well. As Pastor Robert says: “This will change your life, your family, your finances, your marriage, your children, your grandchildren. This will change you. I promise you.”

Wow! Who wouldn’t want to experience that kind of positive change for themselves and those they love? Laurie and I want to invite you to join with us in this incomparable journey of a lifetime of God’s blessings. The short video below with Pastor Morris is a great beginning. It’s a message you won’t want to miss — and one you’ll want to share with others.

Sit back and enjoy — and congratulations on stepping into the “Blessed Life.”
